BIO

Maurizio Montobbio began his career in Italy, where he worked as lighting crew member in his hometown opera theater in Genoa.

After several years in this position, he moved to New York City to study at Lester Polakov’s Studio and Forum of Stage Design. He has since been working in all fields of live shows including opera, theater, dance, music and corporate events.

Among others, Maurizio Montobbio worked with Patrice Bart at the Paris Opera Ballet, the Teatro alla Scala, the Munich Staatsballett, and the Berlin Staatsballett. In contemporary dance Mr. Montobbio has worked with Mikhail Baryshnikov’s White Oak Dance Project and with Canadian choreographer Jean Grand-Maître.

His work in opera includes projects with the Paris Opera, Nancy Opera, Genoa Teatro Carlo Felice and Washington National Opera.
